Additional Learning Support

We believe every apprentice should have the tools, support, and confidence to succeed, no matter their starting point. That’s why we take Additional Learning Support (ALS) seriously, and why we’re committed to making it a normal, positive part of your apprenticeship journey.

We understand that some learners worry about disclosing a learning need, fearing it might lead to judgement or rejection.

The truth is, ALS is not a label, but an opportunity. By telling us about your needs, you’re giving yourself the best possible chance to succeed.
ALS is about removing barriers and helping you perform at your best. Many of our most successful apprentices have benefitted from ALS, going on to achieve higher grades, promotions, and long-term career success.

Every apprentice will be asked to do a self-assessment at the onboarding stage, using our specialist tool, Onyss. This assessment is quick, confidential, and designed to spot any additional needs early. If something is identified, we will work with you to create a personalised Individual Support Plan (ISP). Your trainer will be supported too to help adapt your training to suit you.

We want to make sure every learner is set up for success from day one. Everyone has different preferences to learning, but many also struggle with certain learning techniques. It could be adapting training materials, providing extra time, or using specialist tools. ALS can make your journey smoother and more enjoyable.
