 1. What is a Skills Bootcamp?

A Skills Bootcamp is your bridge to professional development and fresh opportunities. Available at no cost, these adaptable courses, spanning up to 16 weeks, are thoughtfully structured to bolster your career path with essential industry-specific skills. They're designed for anyone eager to enhance their current role, transition into a new vocational arena, secure consistent employment, or widen the horizons for their own business ventures.

With a focus on practical learning and real-world applications, our Skills Bootcamps—ranging from digital to green skills—equip you for the demands of the modern workforce across England. This government-funded initiative invites you to grow your skillset, elevate your marketability, and achieve your professional goals.

 2. Why a Skills Bootcamp?

Opting for a Skills Bootcamp is a transformative decision for anyone looking to enhance their career trajectory. These bootcamps are meticulously designed to bridge the gap between the skill sets individuals possess and what the modern world demands. In an era where industries evolve at a rapid pace, having access to focused, short-term training that equips you with both the technical and soft skills needed for immediate application is invaluable.

 3. How are Skills Bootcamps funded?

If you're considering joining one of our Skills Bootcamps, it's essential to understand how they're funded and what that means for you. Our Bootcamps are designed to boost your career without the financial stress, thanks to government support. Here’s what you need to know:

Fully Funded for You: If you're learning independently, not through an employer, the government covers your Bootcamp cost. This means no charge to you, whether you're self-employed, a side hustler, or looking to upskill.

Employer Contributions: Large Employers: If you're currently employed and your company is large, the government will fund 70% of your Bootcamp. Your employer contributes the remaining 30%.

Small and Medium Employers (SMEs): For smaller companies, with less than 250 employees, the government covers 90%, and your employer chips in just 10%.

One Bootcamp a Year: You can join one Bootcamp per funding year (April 1st to March 31st). If a Bootcamp doesn’t suit you, and you haven't reached the first payment milestone, you can switch to another, up to two starts per year.

Switching Bootcamps: If you leave a Bootcamp before the first milestone, you can join another within the same year, keeping in mind the two-start limit.

Employer’s Role for Employees: Companies training their staff will need to contribute to the course costs, based on their size. This support ensures you get the training you need without worrying about the cost.

 4. What is the funding Eligibility for Skills Bootcamps?

Age Requirement: You need to be 19 years old or above before a certain date to join a Bootcamp:
For Bootcamps starting between April 1st, 2024, and July 31st, 2024, you must be 19 by August 31st, 2023.

Right to Work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work in the UK. You can check this easily at https://www.gov.uk/view-right-to-work

Residency Requirement: It's important that you meet the residency requirements to be eligible. If you're planning to enrol in a Skills Bootcamp, make sure to check the specific residency criteria outlined in the Adult Education Budget (AEB) funding rules https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/adult-education-budget-aeb-funding-rules-2023-to-2024

Living in England: You need to be living in England.

Meeting these criteria means you’re all set to be funded for a Skills Bootcamp in 2024, designed to propel your career forward without financial worry.
