Functional Skills are the practical skills in English and Maths that enable confidence, effectiveness and independence both at work and in everyday life. We offer Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.
Our aim is to provide flexible, cost effective qualifications that meet the real needs of individuals embarking on further study such as an apprenticeship or degree programmes.
If you want to undertake your functional skills before undertaking an apprenticeships, we offer a range of individual Trainer support and interactive online materials.
Functional Skills Maths and English courses
Duration:
Varies between an intensive week up to 6 months.
Entry Requirements:
All applicants must complete an initial assessment to determine starting point. This will be completed via our online platform, BKSB.
We offer different levels of support depending on the result of your initial online diagnostic assessment:
Assessment Methods:
You will undertake an initial assessment which will identify the current level. We will then agree a plan with you which will include Trainer support and mock tests followed by an exam(s) at our Fareham Training Centre.
On acceptance, you will be allocated a Trainer who will support you through the learning until you are exam ready, tailoring the support to help you to achieve.
Qualification Awarded:
Skills First Functional Skills Level 2 Certificate in Maths or English
Cost
Initial Diagnostic will cost £30 to allow us to determine your level of support. We can then provide a cost for 1 or 2 functional skills.
