If you’re starting out in project coordination, managing teams, running your own business, exploring new career paths, or currently job hunting, our Project Management Skills Bootcamp in Berkshire is here to support your growth. You’ll develop the core knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to plan, lead, and deliver successful projects – no matter your role. Qualifications and Level:APM Project Management Fundamentals (PFQ)
Entry requirements:

Applicants must be Berkshire residents, aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2025. Eligible individuals include sole traders, freelancers, business owners, those in employment, and those currently unemployed. You must have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK continuously for the past three years.

A strong interest in project management and a genuine commitment to developing your skills through the Skills Bootcamp is essential. During the programme, you’ll study the theory and key concepts required for the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification, leading up to a 60-minute exam.

Don’t worry, you’ll receive plenty of support, guidance, and expert coaching throughout.

Cost:If you're based in Berkshire and are a sole trader, freelancer, unemployed, or run a business without employees, you may be eligible for full course funding (valued at £3,250), covered by Berkshire. For businesses with 1 to 250 employees, a 10% employer contribution (£325 per participant) is required, with the remaining 90% subsidised by Berkshire. For larger organisations with over 250 employees, employers are expected to contribute 30% (£975 per participant), while Berkshire will fund the other 70%. Please note: all funding is subject to meeting full eligibility criteria

Wednesday 7th May 2025Takes place one day per week (Wednesday), from 9:30am to 4:30pm, over 10 weeks. Broken up with regular breaks.
Monday 2nd June 2025Designed for those currently unemployed and aiming to step into a project-focused role. The programme features employability skills training and includes a guaranteed job interview. Sessions take place every Monday from 9:00am to 4:30pm over a 10-week period, with regular breaks built into the schedule.

Module 1: Project Management Basics & Project Initiation


You will explore the fundamentals of project management, including methodologies, frameworks, and the impact of different operating environments. This module sets the foundational knowledge you need to manage projects effectively.

Module 2: Roles And Responsibilities & Project Planning


We delve into the various roles within a project team and understand the critical responsibilities of each role. You will also learn essential project planning techniques, including setting timelines and allocating tasks.

Module 3: Project Execution


Learn how to integrate projects within the broader context of your organisation. This module focuses on aligning project objectives with corporate goals and adapting management strategies to suit your workplace dynamics.

Module 4: Project Closure & Quality Management


We cover how to accurately define and manage the scope of your projects, ensuring they stay within predefined boundaries. You’ll also explore strategies for effective resource allocation to meet project objectives.

Module 5: Leadership, Communication & Teamwork Within Project Management


You will gain insights into identifying, assessing, and managing risks, maintaining the quality of projects, and the role of leadership in guiding projects towards success.

Module 6: Additional Project Management Soft Skills & Mock Exam


We focus on applying the project management principles you’ve learned in a real workplace setting. This module teaches techniques for effectively implementing project plans. Time is also given for learners to complete their first mock PFQ exam in preparation for the actual PFQ exam in Week 10.

Module 7: Agile Project Management + Digital Tools & Fundamental Exam


Module 7 enhances your problem-solving and decision-making skills, tailored to project management scenarios. You’ll learn negotiation techniques that are effective within and outside the project team, plus take a Digital Tools & Fundamentals exam.

This module addresses strategies for managing interpersonal conflicts in projects and explores opportunities for personal development to enhance your project management career.

Module 9: Presentation Skills & Mock Exam


We focus on improving presentation skills in relation to project management scenarios. Further time is given for learners to take another mock PFQ exam, so they are ready for the real PFQ exam in Week 10.

We consolidate your learning with a comprehensive revision session on project management fundamentals. This is followed by the actual PFQ exam which assesses your understanding of the content covered throughout the course.
