The Qualification 

This qualification provides a pathway for those who wish to understand assessment, qualify as an assessor and develop on to Education and Training qualifications. 
 
The course is designed as a bespoke course taking into consideration the "work time and home time" of a candidate. 
 
There are three units within this qualification and candidates will select the units that meet the requirements of what they are assessing. The first unit is Mandatory. 
 
Unit 1: Understanding the Principles of Assessment, this is a knowledge based unit for those who are starting the assessor role or those who have not started and wish to learn the assessment practice but are not currently practising. 
 
Unit 2: Assessing the Competence in the Work Environment, this is a practical based unit for those who assess skills in a vocationally related area using assessment methods such as: observations, witness statements, discussion, work products, oral questioning, learner statements and RPL. 
 
Unit 3: Assessing Vocational Achievement, this unit where you learn how to practically assess within a classroom environment using valid methods of assessment designed for classroom assessment
