If you’re unemployed and based in Essex, our Teaching Assistant Skills Bootcamp offers a practical route into a career in education. Created for people looking to enter the sector or return to employment, this fully funded programme develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in a modern school environment.
During the bootcamp, you’ll gain an understanding of key areas including classroom practice, child development, safeguarding, behaviour management, communication, and teamwork. Alongside your training, you’ll receive dedicated employability support, including CV development, interview coaching, and one-to-one careers advice to help you prepare for your next opportunity. We’ll also work with you to help secure an interview with a school in Essex.
The programme is delivered in partnership with Essex County Council and funded by the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) as part of its Skills Bootcamp initiative. This investment helps strengthen the local education workforce by supporting Essex schools to recruit skilled Teaching Assistants while giving residents access to high-quality training and meaningful career opportunities.
