Our Leicestershire Data Analyst With AI Skills Bootcamp is designed to help you build practical, job-relevant data skills and the confidence to apply them in the workplace. Whether you’re currently unemployed and looking to move into a data-related role, considering a career change, or already working and looking to strengthen your capabilities, the programme will help you turn data into useful insights and make more informed decisions.
Throughout the Bootcamp, you’ll gain hands-on experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL and Python, covering areas including data visualisation, dashboards, databases, data cleaning, statistical analysis and reporting. You’ll also explore how AI and automation can support modern data analysis, alongside working towards the Microsoft PL-900 exam in week 10.
We keep our class sizes small, typically with around 12 participants, creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, work through practical challenges and learn alongside others in the group.

Our next Leicestershire Data Analyst With AI Skills Bootcamp starts on the 3rd November 2026 and runs online every Tuesday & Thursday evening, from 5:30pm to 8.30pm, for 10 weeks. Sessions include regular pauses helping you balance your training with other commitments.
The Bootcamp is delivered through live online group teaching and coaching, with interactive activities and opportunities for one-to-one support from your trainer. As this is a practical Data Analyst With AI Skills Bootcamp, you’ll need access to a Windows laptop or desktop computer throughout the programme. Apple Mac computers are not suitable, as some of the software and tools used during the live training are not fully compatible with macOS. Please make sure you have access to a suitable Windows device before enrolling. If you’re unsure whether your equipment meets the course requirements, please contact us before applying.
Data Analyst With AI Skills Bootcamp certificate upon successful completion, awarded by Fareport Training & Leicester City Council. The programme also includes exam preparation and the Microsoft PL-900 exam in week 10.
If you’re unemployed and meet the eligibility criteria, this Skills Bootcamp is fully funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) via Leicester City Council. For employed participants, sole traders, freelancers and business owners without employees, the course may also be fully funded subject to eligibility. Employers with 1-250 employees contribute 10% of the course cost for each employee attending, with the remaining 90% funded. Employers with 250+ employees contribute 30%, with the remaining 70% funded. Please note that all funding is subject to full eligibility checks.
This Skills Bootcamp is particularly suited to unemployed Leicestershire residents looking to build practical data skills, improve their career prospects and move towards a data-related role.
It’s also suitable for people looking to change careers, as well as employees, self-employed professionals and business owners who want to strengthen their data capabilities. Whether you’re new to data analysis or looking to use data more effectively in your current role, the Bootcamp provides practical training and support to help you develop valuable, workplace-ready skills.
Candidates must live in Leicestershire and be aged 19 or over. The Bootcamp is particularly suited to unemployed individuals looking to develop new skills and move towards a career involving data, but may also be available to eligible employees, self-employed professionals, freelancers and business owners.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and meet the required UK residency criteria. You should have an interest in data analysis and be committed to developing practical skills throughout the 10-week programme.
The course is ideally suited to those who are relatively new to data analytics and looking to build their knowledge, confidence and technical skills.

Build a strong foundation in data analysis by exploring the data lifecycle, different types of data and common data sources. You’ll be introduced to key tools including Excel, Power BI, SQL and Python, while also learning about responsible data use, AI ethics, GDPR and data protection.
Learn how to turn data into clear, useful information using Excel. You’ll explore pivot charts and key measures such as KPIs, trends, seasonality, month-on-month and year-on-year performance and benchmarking, before learning how to communicate your findings effectively through reports tailored to different audiences.
Discover how to transform raw data into meaningful visual insights using Power BI. You’ll learn the basics of Power Query, data cleaning and data modelling, before creating purposeful visualisations and building a simple dashboard. You’ll also explore how Copilot in Power BI can support your work.
Develop your Power BI skills by exploring what makes a dashboard effective and easy to use. You’ll work with metrics, data segmentation, product trackers, filters and multiple dashboard pages, learning how to present information clearly and create a better experience for the people using your reports.
Explore how Microsoft tools can be used to automate processes and improve the way organisations work with data. You’ll be introduced to Power Apps, Power Pages and Power Automate, building your understanding of the wider Microsoft Power Platform.
Learn how databases organise and connect information and develop your understanding of data modelling, keys and cardinality. You’ll also be introduced to SQL syntax, including how to filter, group and join data in preparation for working with larger datasets and answering business questions.
Put your SQL knowledge into practice by learning how to write queries that answer real business questions. You’ll use data to identify information such as top-performing products, sales by country and periods of profit or loss, helping you develop practical skills in extracting useful insights from databases.
Get started with Python and learn some of the fundamental concepts used in data analysis, including data types, variables, loops and libraries. You’ll practice loading CSV data into Python and explore how AI tools such as Gemini can support your coding and data analysis activities.
Learn why clean, reliable data is essential for effective analysis. You’ll be introduced to Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and develop practical data-cleaning skills before visually exploring datasets using tools including pandas, seaborn and matplotlib.
Bring together your learning by exploring key statistical concepts using Python and Excel, including distributions, histograms, box plots, summary statistics and outliers. You’ll also learn approaches to identifying and removing outliers before completing exam revision and the Microsoft PL-900 exam.

Individuals are permitted to enrol in only one Skills Bootcamp per funding year (1st April to 31st March).
This limitation ensures that participants can fully commit to and benefit from the intensive training provided by each bootcamp. It also allows equitable access to these government-funded programmes, enabling a broader range of individuals to enhance their skills and improve their employment prospects. Therefore, if you have already completed a Skills Bootcamp within the current funding year, you would need to wait until the next funding cycle to enrol in another.
