Our Healthcare Support Worker Skills Bootcamp, delivered in partnership with West Sussex County Council, is for individuals who are currently unemployed & looking to begin a career in the healthcare sector.
Course attendees will gain valuable insights into working in healthcare settings while building the skills employers are looking for.
If you’re currently unemployed and living in West Sussex, the Healthcare Support Worker Skills Bootcamp provides a direct route into the healthcare sector with training designed to prepare you for real-world care environments. Whether you’re returning to work or considering a career change, this fully funded programme will help you develop the key skills Healthcare employers are looking for – including communication, person-centred care, safeguarding, infection prevention, and professional practice.
You’ll also receive dedicated employability support throughout the course, including help with CV writing, interview techniques, and tailored career advice. As part of the programme, you’ll be supported in securing an interview with a local healthcare employer, giving you the opportunity to take the next step into work with confidence.
This Skills Bootcamp is delivered in partnership with West Sussex County Council, with funding provided through the Department for Education (DfE). This investment supports the development of a skilled local workforce, helping individuals access meaningful careers while meeting the growing demand for healthcare professionals across the region.
60 hours learning over 5 weeks
Starting on Tuesday 2nd June 2026, this Bootcamp operates every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday for 5 weeks, with daily teaching hours of 10am to 2:00pm.
Delivered online, this engaging course blends interactive activities with expert-led teaching in a supportive virtual classroom environment.
A Certificate of Completion issued by Fareport Training in partnership with West Sussex County Council
If you’re based in West Sussex and not currently in work, you could qualify for this fully funded training programme, backed by the Department for Education. Please be aware that all enrolments are subject to meeting the programme’s full eligibility requirements.
This course is aimed at individuals aged 19 or over who are currently unemployed and living in West Sussex, and who are interested in starting a career in healthcare. It’s particularly suited to those with little or no prior experience in the sector, as well as people returning to work after a break or considering a career change. If you’re motivated to learn, keen to support others, and looking to build the skills and confidence needed to work as a Healthcare Support Worker, this programme is designed to help you take that first step.
To take part in this programme, you’ll need to be aged 19 or over by 31st August 2026 and currently reside in West Sussex. This Skills Bootcamp is aimed at individuals who are not in employment and are interested in pursuing a career as a Healthcare Support Worker within local healthcare services.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK and have been living here continuously for at least the past 12 months. We’re seeking individuals who are motivated, committed to learning, and keen to build a future in the healthcare sector through online training.

This second session helps learners develop effective communication skills and how to handle sensitive information safely and confidentially.

In this session, participants will gain knowledge of the laws, regulations, and standards that guide safe and ethical healthcare practice.
Our 4th session helps learners to provide care that respects individual needs, preferences, and dignity.
This session develops understanding on how to prevent infection and carry out basic clinical observations safely.
In session 6 learners develop an understanding on how to promote fairness, respect, and inclusion in healthcare settings.
Session 7 focuses on gaining awareness of common mental health conditions and how to support individuals.
In this session participants learn how to support individuals with learning disabilities effectively and respectfully.
In this session, learners build an understanding of their responsibility to provide safe, high-quality care and act in the best interests of individuals.
Session 10 builds job readiness for our participants, with support in creating a CV and preparing for job interviews.
In this session, participants learn how to recognise and respond to signs of abuse or neglect.
In Session 12, learners will understand the importance of nutrition and maintaining a safe environment for service users.
In this session, learners gain insight into supporting individuals with autism and managing behaviours positively.
This sessions focusses on how learners can continue to build skills and knowledge to support their career progression.
In this final session, learners will develop an understanding of dementia and how to provide compassionate, effective support.

Tammie joined Fareport in April 2017 as an experienced Health and Social Care trainer and has been working with level 2, 3, 4, and 5 learners in Health and Social Care. Tammie also works with level 3 Customer Service learners and Operations Manager level 5 qualifications.
Prior to this, Tammie had over 20 years of practical experience in Health and Social Care and Management. Tammie has completed various qualifications including A1 and DET level 5.
Sam is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in employability, training, and career development. She holds a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and is also a qualified Assessor. Highly organised and customer-focused, Sam combines an engaging personality with strong creativity, a keen eye for detail, and proficient IT skills.
Sam enjoys producing clear and concise documents, particularly when tackling challenging CVs. Skilled at building rapport at all levels, Sam is adept at resolving issues, motivating and inspiring others, and helping individuals improve their confidence.

From course start date, the Bootcamp runs every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday for 5 weeks, with daily teaching hours of 10am to 2:00pm. Each session includes regular breaks.
This course is delivered through online group training by our Healthcare Support experts.
This Bootcamp has a small class size, usually with around 12 participants. This setup ensures individual support, encourages collaboration, and provides plenty of opportunities for questions and discussions.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion from Fareport Training and West Sussex County Council.
