What is an HTQ?
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ) have been developed in partnership with awarding bodies, employers and businesses to help you get the specific training, knowledge and skills you need for your chosen career paths. They come after A or T Levels and before Degrees (and can also be studied alongside an Apprenticeship). An HTQ will usually take 1-2 years to complete. Available for over 18s.
What is the difference between an Apprenticeship and an HTQ?
HTQs are qualifications that have been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE) as meeting the occupational standards for careers in the sector they cover. You do not need to be in a relevant job role to complete.
Apprenticeships have also been approved by IfATE and are written with employers. They are a combination of classroom and work-based learning. An apprenticeship will usually take 15-18 months to complete. The majority are fully funded. Available for over 16s.
What is a Skills Bootcamp?
Skills Bootcamps are Government funded, flexible training programmes lasting up to 16 weeks. They provide individuals in England with the opportunity to acquire specific skills relevant to various sectors, in areas such as Digital, Data, Project Management and Care. The majority are fully funded. Employees, unemployed and self-employed may be eligible. Available for over 19s.
