Funding overview: How it works
Here’s a breakdown of how our training is funded, depending on your employment status and the size of your organisation:
Sole traders, freelancers, and business owners (without employees) in the Solent area: Full funding is provided by the Solent Growth Partnership, so there’s no cost to you.
SMEs (under 250 staff) in the Solent area: Your business pays just 10% of the total training cost per employee. The remaining 90% is covered by the Solent Growth Partnership.
Larger organisations (250+ employees) in the Solent area: A 30% contribution from your organisation is required, with Solent Growth Partnership funding covering the rest.
Important Note: Each eligible learner can access one fully funded Bootcamp between April 1 and March 31 of each financial year.
Eligibility for fully funded training
You may be able to join a Solent Skills Bootcamp at no cost if you meet the following conditions:
- Reside within the Solent region
- Are 19 or older as of August 31, 2025
- Legally permitted to work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK continuously for at least three years
- Operate as a Sole Trader, Freelancer, or are self-employed without any staff
