How is the funding structured for our Hull Skills Bootcamps?
Understanding how funding works can help you make an informed decision:
Individuals in Hull who are Sole Traders, Freelancers, or Business Owners without employees: Full course funding is provided by Hull City Council.
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Hull (fewer than 250 staff): Your organisation pays just 10% of the course cost per employee; the remaining 90% is funded by the council.
Larger Employers (250+ employees in Hull): A 30% employer contribution is required, with Hull City Council covering the rest.
Please note: learners are entitled to one funded bootcamp per financial year (April 1 – March 31).
Who can apply for a fully funded Hull Skills Bootcamp?
You may qualify for full funding if you meet the following criteria:
Live in Hull
Are 19 years of age or older by August 31, 2025
Have the legal right to work in the UK
Have continuously lived in the UK for the past 3 years
Are a Sole Trader, Freelancer, or Business Owner with no staff
Meeting all of the above means you could be eligible for funded training to support your career or business journey.
