Tell us briefly about your business and your role.
My business, Blackhaus Developments, is a mixture of quantity surveying and project management in the construction industry and we specialist in luxury residential properties primarily in Surrey and London. My role as the sole director is to manage the business, bring in new projects and train my staff to further their progressing.
What challenge or goal led you to work with Fareport?
I had used Fareport circa 9 years ago for my first apprentice who had a successful 7 years with the business. I was very happy with the process and expertise from Fareport then and have been equally happy this time with 2 new apprentices.
What has been the biggest benefit of the Apprenticeship/training for your team?
Elements of the business that they don’t have the knowledge or expertise to execute. I therefore drip feed them new tasks as the months go on and we are nearly approaching their 2 year anniversary now. I am also in the position to explain exactly how I need tasks executed so that I get exactly what I need. There are inevitable speed bumps in the process but the good far outweighs the bad.
Can you share one specific example of positive change since working with us?
Allowing me to focus on my business while dealing with all necessary support and admin, and I knew they were in safe hands throughout the process.
How would you describe your overall experience in a few words?
Excellent service that provides the necessary support for my apprentices that allows me to take a back seat and I know that they’re in good hands. Seeing them both achieve a distinction was a proud moment.
