How Skills Bootcamp Funding Works For Solent Employers
If you’re considering enrolling team members in a Skills Bootcamp, here’s what you need to know about funding eligibility:
Funding Breakdown By Business Size
Small and medium sized companies in the Solent region (with under 250 employees): Pay only 10% of the training cost per participant. The remaining 90% is DfE-funded via the Solent Growth Partnership
Larger companies in the Solent region (with 250+ employees): Contribute 30%, with the remaining 70% covered by the DfE via the Solent Growth Partnership
Note: Employees can only participate in one funded Skills Bootcamp between April 1 and March 31 each year.
Eligibility Criteria For Funded Skills Bootcamps In The Solent Area
To access subsidised training, employees must meet the following:
Residency: Must live within the Solent region
Age Requirement: Must be 19 or older as of 31 August 2025
Right to Work: Must have legal eligibility to work in the UK
UK Residency History: Must have resided in the UK for the past three consecutive years
Employer Size: SME employees may qualify for reduced contributions (10%)
