Key steps to avoid learners leaving apprenticeships early
Posted on 25th March 2024 at 13:19
Have you spoken to your teams recently who are on apprenticeship programmes?
Remember, we all need to view things from 3 perspectives:
Learner (apprentice) - Them
Employer - You
Training Provider - Us
As a line manager your role is crucial to the success of the apprenticeship. Without line manager support, most apprentices will not fully benefit from doing an apprenticeship and in some cases will struggle to complete their programme.
At Fareport Training we realise that this can be daunting for many busy managers. We are here to help you and ensure that your apprentice gets the maximum benefit from their apprenticeship programme.
We need to ensure that we all understand the commitment and expectation of the apprenticeship, including key terms and ‘pain points’ such as off the job time. It is important you communicate issues with us so we that can support you.
It’s never too late to help someone. Let’s work together to achieve the best outcome.
3 things you can do to support right now:
Speak to them 😊 (and continue to do so)
Revisit reasons they wanted to do the programme and re-emphasise these
Establish an action plan to get back on track
