Duration:60 hours learning over 10 weeks
Timings:The Bootcamp takes place one day per week over a span of 10 weeks, usually running from 9:30am to 4:00pm. Each session includes scheduled breaks and a dedicated lunch period to support focused learning.
Study Modes:Delivered entirely online, this group-based programme combines practical, engaging activities with live coaching to ensure you stay involved and motivated throughout the course.
Qualifications and Level:The globally respected CompTIA Security+ certification, plus a Certificate of Completion issued by Fareport Training in collaboration with Hampshire County Council
Entry requirements:

To join the programme, you must reside in Hampshire and be 19 or older by 31st August 2025. The Bootcamp welcomes a diverse group of participants, including those who are employed, self-employed, freelance, running a business, unemployed, or considering a career shift. Applicants must also have the legal right to work in the UK and have lived in the country continuously for the past three years.

We’re looking for individuals with a genuine interest in cyber security and a strong commitment to developing their skills through this hands-on training experience.

Cost:If you're based in Hampshire and are a sole trader, freelancer, unemployed, or run a business without employees, you may be eligible for fully funded training, thanks to support from Hampshire County Council. For small to medium-sized businesses (with 1–250 staff), a 10% employer contribution is required, with the remaining 90% subsidised by the Council. Larger organisations (250+ employees) are asked to contribute 30%, with the remaining 70% funded by Hampshire County Council. All financial support is subject to meeting the programme’s full eligibility requirements.

Sessions take place once a week on Tuesdays, from 9:30am to 4:00pm, over a 10-week period. Each class includes regular breaks and a set lunch break. Planning a holiday during the course? No worries - you can pause your learning for up to two weeks and resume afterwards.
Wednesday 23rd July 2025The programme takes place weekly on Wednesdays, running from 9:30am to 4:00pm across 10 weeks. Each session includes planned breaks and a designated lunch period. If you have holiday plans during the course, that’s no problem - you can pause your studies for up to two weeks and catch up afterwards.
Monday 18th August 2025This programme supports unemployed individuals aiming to start a career in cyber security. It features employability training and includes a guaranteed job interview. The programme takes place weekly on Monday and Thursday, running from 9:30am to 4:00pm across 5 weeks. Each session includes planned breaks and a designated lunch period. Module 1: Security Foundations & Core Concepts


This module covers the basics of cybersecurity and the core principles of the CIA Triad – Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. It introduces security controls, the difference between authentication and authorisation, and key security roles such as analysts and CISOs. Participants also receive an overview of the CompTIA Security+ exam and its main focus areas. This week lays the groundwork for understanding essential cybersecurity concepts.

Module 2:  Common Threats, Actors & Attack Vectors


This module explores various types of threat actors, including their motives and capabilities. Students learn about social engineering, phishing, and credential attacks that exploit human behaviour. The week also covers different forms of malware, physical attacks, and the common vectors used to deliver these threats. This knowledge helps learners recognise how attacks are carried out and who may be behind them.

 Module 2 Basic Networking Concepts

Module 3: Vulnerabilities & Exploits


This module focuses on identifying and understanding weaknesses in software and hardware that attackers can exploit. Topics include zero-day attacks, misconfigurations, and privilege escalation, which allow unauthorised access or control. Participants also learn about Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), vulnerability scanning tools, and the use of vulnerability databases for tracking known issues. This week emphasises the importance of proactive detection and mitigation of security flaws.
