Explore key milestones in Fareport’s journey and discover how our commitment to skills, training, and learner success has evolved over the years.
Did you know Fareport Training was established in 1981 in order to offer young people a route into work through work-based training?
It hasn’t always been the case since though, let’s look back at then and now.

Fareport: Then and Now – A Timeline
- 1981 – Fareport Training was established to offer young people a route into work through work-based training, managed by founder Mick Reeve MBE. The main provision was apprentices in health and social care.
- 1998 – The Life Skills programme was introduced, focusing on basic skills and personal development for young people not yet ready for structured education or training.
- 2003 – “Entry to Employment” (E2E) programmes began in the UK. Fareport had a dedicated team delivering these to 16–24-year-olds.
- 2010 – “Foundation Learning” replaced E2E, aimed at learners aged 14–19. Fareport worked with local schools to deliver these programmes in Gosport.
- 2012 – Fareport became a City & Guilds (C&G) approved centre.
- 2013 – Foundation Learning funding ended, and Fareport chose not to deliver the replacement Study Programmes. Schools took these in-house.
- 2014 – The business was purchased with support from entrepreneur Theo Paphitis by Natalie Cahill and Marinos Paphitis. This marked a period of national growth and expansion.
- 2015 – Apprenticeship Levy announced. Fareport became a BIIAB and ILM recognised centre and gained the Matrix Standard for quality IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance).
- 2017/18 – The Apprenticeship Levy came into effect. Fareport transitioned to new ‘Standards’ and hired national trainers to expand reach.
- 2020 – Skills Bootcamps introduced by the Government, focusing on digital skills such as cybersecurity, coding, software, data, and digital marketing.
- 2023 – Fareport began delivering Skills Bootcamps in Hampshire, became a CIPD approved centre, and introduced HTQs (Higher Technical Qualifications).
- 2024 – Fareport launched HTQs and expanded Skills Bootcamps nationally. Became a CMI approved centre.
